The Flow of Time explores the quiet transformation that occurs where water slowly shapes the stone around it. Inspired by the interior spaces of cenotes, the painting captures the subtle boundaries where mineral surfaces, water, and light meet.

The upper portion of the painting is carved with sculpted texture and layered with pale stone tones, suggesting the worn limestone walls of a cavern. About a third of the way up from the base, a softly curved band of water emerges—an organic seam that bends across the surface like the shifting edge of a submerged chamber.

Below this water line, deeper sepia tones drip and gather into mineral formations reminiscent of stalactites and stalagmites. Pigment moves across the textured ground, allowing color to settle naturally into the terrain and echo the slow erosion and mineral growth that shape these underground environments.

Rather than depicting a specific location, The Flow of Time reflects the quiet movement of water through stone—the patient forces that carve, dissolve, and transform the earth over centuries.
