Inspired by visits to the cenotes of the Mayan Riviera, Mexico, the painting captures the feeling of standing within these ancient chambers where stone, water, and time intersect.

The upper portion of the painting is carved with layered texture and washed with pale limestone tones, evoking the worn cavern walls found deep within these natural formations. Below, sepia pigments drip and gather across the surface, referencing the slow growth of mineral formations—stalactites and stalagmites shaped over thousands of years.
