Inspired by place. Shaped by experience.

Art has always been part of who I am. This chapter is where everything came together.

My journey into art began early, and though life initially led me down the path of architecture, art was never far behind. As a registered architect and contemporary abstract artist, I’ve always been fascinated by the edges where natural and built environments meet.

My work—spanning painting, sculpture, and mixed media—explores the tension between stillness and transformation, often inspired by shifting coastlines, horizons, and geological formations that shape our world.

Over time, I’ve come to see my own path as a convergence of these experiences—each piece emerging from decades of observation, a deep curiosity about material, and a creative voice that’s found its fullest expression now.

My arrival...

Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, I spent countless hours drawing and painting, and by age ten I was filling sketchbooks and copying Van Gogh paintings simply because I loved the process of making.

When it came time to choose a career path, I dreamed of attending art school. Instead, I was encouraged to pursue architecture—a practical decision that ultimately led to a rewarding profession and a deeper understanding of space, light, form, and composition. Yet throughout those years, art never disappeared. I continued to sketch, paint, experiment, and develop my creative voice alongside my architectural career.

Life unfolded as it does for many of us. I built a career, raised a family, traveled, and embraced the responsibilities and opportunities that come with each stage of life. Every experience left its mark, shaping not only how I see the world, but also the work I create today.

Looking back, I don't see art and architecture as separate paths. They have always informed one another. Architecture taught me to see structure, rhythm, and spatial relationships. Art taught me to embrace intuition, curiosity, and discovery. Together, they became the foundation for a body of work that explores transformation, resilience, and the beauty that emerges through change.

In many ways, this chapter feels less like a beginning and more like an arrival.

My Process

My work begins with observation—of landscapes, materials, light, and the subtle ways nature reshapes the world over time. Rather than working toward a predetermined image, I allow each piece to evolve through a process of layering, excavation, and discovery. A conversation between me and surface.

Paint, texture, reclaimed materials, and kiln-formed glass become tools for exploration. Some areas are built up, others removed. Unexpected marks are often embraced rather than erased. The result is work that balances intuition with structure, revealing a visual history of the decisions made along the way.

My Inspiration

Inspiration often begins with a place. Coastlines, shifting horizons, geological formations, and the quiet spaces between land, water, and sky continue to shape the way I see and create.

Travel, architecture, and the natural world all leave their mark on the work, providing an endless source of textures, forms, and relationships to explore.
