The Flow of Time was inspired by the ancient waters of the cenotes at Kantun Chi Eco Park in the Mayan Riviera. Swimming through the crystal-clear water, surrounded by smooth, ancient stone, I was struck by the quiet beauty of a landscape shaped over thousands of years.

This painting is about flow—the gentle movement of water, the softness of the light, and the remarkable smoothness of stone shaped slowly by forces that never seem to stop. There was something almost profound about standing in that place and realizing how much time it took for water to create these forms. What feels still and serene in a single moment is actually the result of an extraordinary, ongoing process.

The surrounding caves hold evidence of that passage of time, from the ancient formations above and below the water to the underground rivers that continue to move through the landscape. But here, I wanted to focus on the quieter experience—the feeling of being immersed in calm, ancient water and absorbing the immense passage of time that surrounds you.
