The Cenote Collection

This entire series was inspired by the magic of the underground river that flows beneath the Mayan jungle connecting the cenotes at Kantun Chi Eco Park in Mexico's Riviera Maya.

I was fortunate to swim in these crystal-clear waters, surrounded by ancient geological formations and stone shaped over thousands of years. Stalactites and stalagmites hung above the water and dipped below its surface as I walked and swam through the underground passages.

This unique ecosystem of dark caverns connects five distinct open and semi-closed cenotes and is part of the Pon-Dera system, one of the longest mapped underwater cave networks in the world.
