This sculpture is part of the series "A Conversation Between Wood and Glass".

The glass is up-cycled (meaning taken from the landfill) tempered glass that was discarded. The glass is cleaned, smashed, and then kiln-formed in a custom mold. The molds are made custom-made for each piece of wood. Molds are made from fiber, fiberboard, metal, and/or metal mesh. The glass is fired into the mold using a custom program to achieve the desired result. The final design is supposed to complement, accentuate, mimic and enhance the features and characteristics of the chosen wood slab. The sculpture is wired to be wall hung.
